Loop Head Labyrinth at Purecamping

Ireland
  • Loop Head Labyrinth at Purecamping

The Loop Head Labyrinth was created as a joint project with community members and Purecamping. It is a place of reflection and a sacred space for many. This labyrinth is dedicated to Danu, the mother goddess of the Tuatha de Danann. You can visit the Labyrinth during your stay at Purecamping.

The Labyrinth has seven rings corresponding to the seven major chakras or energy centres. A kind of gateway between heaven and earth, above and below.

The Labyrinth has been used with children who have behavioural/and or developmental difficulties.

About the creators
Trea and Kevin, their two children, 2 donkeys, 3 dogs, 3 cats, 3 hens, and a cockerel live on a small farm in the village of Querrin, which features 10 acres of an emerging native woodland that surrounds an ancient ring fort.

Trea is a Satyananda Yoga teacher and has been teaching in the area for some years. She is also part of a tight-knit family of Satyananda yoga teachers throughout Ireland. Kevin is a neuromuscular therapist with an interest in environmental and heritage projects, especially in local and community arenas.

Trea and Kevin renovated their cottage and outbuildings in an eco-friendly and heritage sensitive manner, using breathable lime external render, hemp and lime internal plastering and heat pump technology.
