This hall of 51 mirrors was built in 1896 for the Swiss National Exhibition in Geneva and has been in the Glacier Garden since 1899. It is inspired by the fairytale Alhambra Palace of Granada. The labyrinth offers the illusion of the Moorish palace and its gardens.

The way through the maze presents the visitor with bewildering encounters with him/herself over and over again. It is an expedition into the "ego-center", that brief moment of a life that each person understands as the center of time.

The Mirror Labyrinth is an integral part of the Glacier Garden, which is supported by the Foundation Glacier Garden Lucerne. The purpose of the foundation is ... "to preserve the glacier garden in Lucerne, which was transferred to its property by the stock corporation Amrein-Troller, as a natural monument and the museum founded in 1895 with the associated facilities and collections and to continue to operate it in the previous sense and spirit."
