Campfire in the Heart Labyrinth Walks

The labyrinth at Campfire in the Heart is a replica of the well-known medieval Labyrinth laid in stone on the floor of Chartres Cathedral in France. Laid in the early 13th century (1200-1220 CE) the Chartres Cathedral Labyrinth has been walked for centuries by pilgrims all over the world and is the most famous medieval labyrinth design.

Walking the labyrinth can symbolise being on a pilgrimage to a sacred place, a journey to our centre and an opportunity for learning and transformation.

The path meanders in and out so there’s the sense you’re on a journey. The walk is meditative; allowing you to calm distractions, to de-stress and move to a place of reflection.

Labyrinths are often confused with mazes; however the Labyrinth differs from a maze, which is designed to get you lost and confused with dead ends and choices on which way to go. A labyrinth is a single path; you only have to follow the path to reach the centre.

Rich in metaphor, the Labyrinth offers lessons as we walk the path and so can be used as a tool for personal and spiritual growth, for healing, gaining insights and a safe place pause and reflect on our life and direction.

It’s an opportunity to quiet the mind, soothe the soul and open the heart.
