Port Royal

Once the pirate capital of the Caribbean at the edge of Kingston Harbour. A bustling, lawless hub for privateers and smugglers in the 1600s. A devastating 1692 earthquake sank much of the city beneath the sea, sealing its fate. Today, a quiet fishing village with ruins, legends, and sunken history that captivate visitors and archaeologists alike. Fort Charles remains a key surviving part of old Port Royal.
