Tower Bridge

An iconic combined bascule (opening) and suspension bridge over the River Thames in London, completed in 1894. Two Gothic-style towers linked by high-level walkways; central roadway lifts to allow ships to pass. Symbol of Victorian engineering and one of the most recognizable landmarks in the UK.
