Wat Arun

"Temple of Dawn" in Bangkok: historic riverside Buddhist temple on the west bank of the Chao Phraya River, named after Aruna, the Hindu god of dawn. Originated in Ayutthaya period. Rebuilt and expanded in the 19th century under King Rama II and King Rama III. Famous for its central Khmer-style prang (~79 m / ~260 ft) adorned with intricate porcelain and seashell mosaics.
