The Great Sphinx of Giza

A colossal limestone statue on the Giza Plateau near Cairo. Built around 2500 BC, usually attributed to Pharaoh Khafre. Lion’s body, human head symbolizing royal power and wisdom. Length about 73 m (240 ft), height about 20 m (66 ft). One of the oldest and largest sculptures in the world, guarding the nearby pyramids.
