Mount Fuji

Japan’s highest mountain (3,776 m / 12,389 ft), a near-perfect stratovolcano located about 100 km (62 miles) from Tokyo. Sacred in Shinto and Buddhist traditions and climbed by pilgrims for centuries. Last eruption 1707. One of the world’s most recognizable natural landmarks, a UNESCO World Heritage Site (2013).
