Rundāle Palace
Built 1736–1740 for the Duke of Courland, designed by Italian architect Bartolomeo Rastrelli, Baroque and Rococo architecture, lavish gilded halls, ornate ceilings, grand staircases, beautifully landscaped formal gardens. Considered the “Versailles of Latvia” about 80 km (50 mi) south of Riga.
