Arch 22

Built in 1996 in the capital Banjul to commemorate the 1994 military takeover. Monumental triumphal arch (~35 m / 115 ft high) standing over Independence Drive at the city entrance. Contains a small museum and rooftop viewing platform; widely considered the main modern national symbol of The Gambia.
