National Pantheon of the Heroes

Modeled after Paris’s Les Invalides, this neoclassical mausoleum houses the remains of the country’s greatest military and political figures, including the unknown soldier. Originally intended as a chapel in the 1860s, delayed by the War of the Triple Alliance, completed only in 1936. A solemn symbol of national pride and remembrance, often draped in the Paraguayan flag and guarded with ceremonial precision. Asunción.
