Angkor Wat

Translated as "Capital Temple," this UNESCO World Heritage Site (1992) is the world’s largest religious monument and a masterpiece of Khmer architecture. Built in the 12th century as a Hindu temple dedicated to Vishnu, it later became a Buddhist sanctuary. With its lotus-shaped towers, vast moats, and intricate bas-reliefs, it symbolizes Cambodia’s cultural pride and appears on the national flag.
