A 12th-century stone tower in Baku’s Old City, Icherisheher. Rises 29 meters tall, with walls up to 5 meters thick. Origins debated — possibly Zoroastrian fire temple, defensive tower, or observatory. Surrounded by legends, including the tale of a maiden who leapt from its height. Now a museum with sweeping rooftop views of Baku and the Caspian Sea. A UNESCO World Heritage Site.
